The 68th Annual Tubac Festival of the Arts is Southern Arizona’s longest-running art festival and features over 200 juried fine artists, craftspeople, live entertainment, and local food in the historic pedestrian-friendly village.Festival entertainment celebrates the region’s rich cultural traditions with live performances.Since 1959, the Tubac Festival of the Arts has been bringing color to the desert every February, transforming the entire Historic Village of Tubac into a vibrant open-air gallery. Southern Arizona’s longest-running art festival, ranked #1 in Arizona and 10th nationally by Sunshine Artists, features 250 fine artists and craftsmen offering paintings, sculpture, jewelry, photography, and one-of-a-kind works throughout the village’s streets, plazas and courtyards. The San Xavier del Bac Mission was established in 1692 by Padre Eusebio Francisco Kino to serve the needs of the local community, the village of Wa:k (San Xavier District) on the Tohono O’odham reservation, and remains dedicated to their spiritual and communal needs today .
See the ‘cold war’ Titan Missile, also called the Titan II ICBM Site 571-7, up close at the Titan Missile Museum. The site was constructed, 40 km south of Tucson, in 1963 and deactivated in 1984. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1994. It’s the only Titan II complex to survive from the late Cold War period. It’s also the only location in the country where visitors can view an entirely preserved ICBM. You will need to be able to walk down and up 55 stairs with a handrail to see the missile.
Come have some fun with us at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch, “the darndest place you’ll ever visit”. Get up close to an 8 ft tall Ostrich, get a kiss from a goat, see Cownose Stingrays, Rainbow Lorikeets and more. The animals are from all over the globe. The ranch is 3rd generation family owned. It’s been in business and open to the public since 1999, when it just had the ostrich to feed. If you will like a souvenir to take with you, they have a gift shop.
