Rose Parade
Welcome into the New Year!
We will enjoy the 134th Tournaments of Roses Parade from the Grandstands on Monday January 2, 2023. This years theme is “Turning the Corner” Our coach will be located around the corner to enjoy the picnic lunch at the bus after the parade. Bring a folding chair. At the Rose Parade Float Barn we will watch as last minute details to complete the float take place. Each float will have a display stand of the drawing of the prospected float. We will walk through the float barn admiring their work.
Huntington Library is an incredible educational and research institute. With a library in which to do their focused work as we enjoy its beauty and vastness. Walk the outdoors and stroll through the Japanese Garden, Desert Garden and the Chinese Garden. The Art Galleries are sublime representing European Art, American Art, and highlighted artists William Morris, and Sargent Claude Johnson. We will also enjoy an outdoor box lunch near the Café 1919 before our guided tour.
A visit to Palm Springs on the way home. Since the 1920’s Palm Springs has been a playground for the celebrities to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of showbiz. They stayed and purchased hideaway homes. Stars like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., George Hamilton, Bob Hope, Albert Einstein, Bing Crosby, Kirk Douglas, and Cary Grant. Our guide will show us the way, and we’ll taste a Date shake.
