Otsukimi Moonviewing Festival
Celebrating the Japanese culture, the moonviewing festival offers a glimpse into the lives of these quiet people. As the moon is reflected off the surface of the Koi ponds, we will soak in the deeply serene nature of an soft fall evening. Japanese music in the form of wind and string instruments; dynamic Japanese percussion; Japanese dancers , moving with grace and precision; and beautiful expressions of art in the form of breath-taking floral arrangements and calligraphy will round out this journey to another world. Telescopes will be provided for a closer look at our nearest celestial neighbor. The Japanese Friendship Garden is a concentration of natural beauty, within the confines of an enclosed space. It is not a "park" in a western sense, but rather a place where visitors may quietly reflect and seek harmony with the natural world and within themselves, a Japanese tradition that is centuries old.
Tour includes entry into the garden with all the festival has to offer, transportation, and bottled water on the coach.
