Titanic Exhibition & Space Shuttle Endeavour
There seems to be an endless fascination with the ill-fated Titanic. New artifacts are coming to light all the time and this exhibit at the Reagan Library had the latest finds as well as many unique artifacts that are on loan for this exhibit only. There will be a deck chair from the ship, one of only 8 known to exist. There is sheet music found on the body of the violinist who continued to play even as the ship was sinking. The only known full set of boarding documents and tickets are on display, and even some of the wreck wood that has been salvaged. Also included in the admission is the opportunity to tour the entire Reagan Library which was completely renovated in 2011 into a beautiful interactive treasury. From the sea to the skies, we will shift our gaze upward to Space Exploration and spend time at the California Science Center where the actual Space Shuttle Endeavour is on display. The exhibit celebrates the shuttle program, the ship itself, and the people who helped make the program possible. You will be able to view artifacts that flew into space with the Endeavour as well as video footage that convey the emotion and power of the ship. We will also be visiting the Nethercutt Museum and Collection, two unique galleries, displaying a vast collection of vintage cars, musical instruments, and other antiques.
Tour includes entry into the above mentioned venues as well as the Village Green Heritage Center in Palm Springs, lodging with breakfast at the hotel, lunch at Billy Reed's in Palm Springs, transportation, and snacks & bottled water on the coach.
